What is Ontario's West Coast Garden Rail Society?

Ontario’s West Coast Garden Rail Society is a dedicated group of large scale rail and gardening enthusiasts who enjoy combining their two hobbies to create memorable landscapes. The group meets monthly in the temperate season to explore different aspects of these two endeavors.

Large scale or G scale is a term used for model railroads that operate on #1 gauge track. The majority of outdoor railroads today use this gauge to operate on. The track and rolling stock are made to withstand the rigours of outdoor use. Trains can be operated by track power, remote control or live steam.

Many members re-work their gardens with miniature plants and shrubs to create the illusion of scale.

Our group has many husband and wife teams, where each follows their area of interest.
